Nokia Shares Have Reached Their Highest Level In A Decade

Shares of the communications infrastructure supplier Nokia have continued to soar one of a growing group of stocks seeing outsize moves on the back of surging retail trading. The company said it has no news that would explain the rally.

Nokia stock (ticker: NOK) shares has rallied more than 70% this week including gain of more than 50% on Wednesday without any fundamental basis. “Nokia is not aware of any material, undisclosed corporate developments or material change in its business or affairs that has not been publicly disclosed that would account for the recent increase in the market price or trading volume of its shares,” the company said in a statement, after a brief trading halt on the New York Stock Exchange. In a bit of historical irony, the Nokia surge comes in parallel with a similar rally in shares of BlackBerry (BB) another former leader of the smartphone market that has shifted its business focus. Nokia now focuses on networking gear; BlackBerry is now primarily a security software company. BlackBerry shares have rallied 89% this week.

Nike Commemorates Chinese New Year With A Dunk Low "Firecracker" Colorway

Nike (NYSE:NKE -1.01%) is continuing its traditions of pushing out celebratory footwear for the Chinese New Year festivities, and one of the entries involved in this year’s lineup is this ultra-vibrant Dunk Low “Firecracker” variation. This commemorative design is packed chock-full of interesting details, all of which are symbolic of firecracker wrapping paper oft-seen during the cultural celebrations.

At its base, the leather underlays are done up with a crisp aqua blue background and decorated with all-over dotted patterns, all of which is overlapped with more decorated leather panels. The latter sees vibrantly-styled multi-colored Nike branded logos and slogans, as well as notations such as “Bang” to further echo its explosive motif. Traditional tongue branding is substituted for an Off-White™ x Nike collaboration-esque banner on the left side, while the right side dons a “Caution Explosive Power” tag. The heel’s usual “Nike” lettering arrives in bright white, and falls against a bold red backdrop. Beneath all of that, the midsoles are given a bone-like finish, while the treading is fully coated in a saturated red tone to match that of the upper’s accents. Additionally, the interior lining usher in more contrasts as they are dyed in black. Currently, Nike China has these dropping on January 27, but expect a stateside release to follow shortly after as well. Want more sneaker news?
