Sanji uses Diable Jambe to burn away the thorns around Robin, thereby freeing her, and though everyone is grateful, they also know they cannot relax just yet. At Western Village, the injured parents are dropped off along with their children as they beg for someone to save them. Some giants try to ask Loki to take everyone elsewhere since the village is currently under attack, but Loki states he does not care and will only drop people off that are on his back right now, like he wants Luffy to do, but he just calls out to Zoro. Thanks to Loki, though, Jarul is able to send a message across Elbaph that the children have been rescued, which solves their hostage problem. Zoro tells Luffy that he needs to take out the MMAs, but he then hears a sound, which turns out to be Sommers shooting thorns at the giants, furious that everyone survived. Despite his anger, Sommers says he can still take the children to Mary Geoise since they are still alive, but he first wants to dispose of their parents. The children stand between him and their parents, declaring they will protect them this time, and upon seeing this, Sommers is overwhelmed with twisted emotion to the point he says he no longer cares about the mission; he just wants to kill them all now. Just as Sommers shoots his thorns, Zoro intercepts and prevents them from landing, shocking Sommers. The chapter begins with a montage of Brook’s past when he was still Candelle’s apprentice. We see her training him in both swordsmanship and proper etiquette. Right after that, another montage highlights Brook’s close relationship and deep friendship with Shuri. We also see Candelle confiding in Brook, telling him that she loves Prince Reuven, but she is completely content just serving as his loyal royal guard. The scene then shifts to a World Government ship, accompanied by a Tenryubito (Celestial Dragon), arriving at the Kingdom of Esperia. Following this visit, Candelle falls seriously ill for a long time, causing a great deal of concern and sadness throughout the entire kingdom. Once Candelle finally recovers, Reuven announces his engagement to her. However, a mysterious fog later engulfs the entire kingdom for years, damaging the citizens' health and corroding the musical instruments that sustained the nation's economy. Because of this, Esperia’s economy eventually collapses, leaving them unable to pay the Celestial Tribute. This prompts the World Government to step in and demand their citizens as slaves instead. Reuven refuses to back down and chooses to resist, waging a war against the World Government's forces that ends with the kingdom being consumed by flames. When Brook finally rushes to the palace, he is shocked to find Shuri stabbing Reuven. The last double page reveals that both Reuven and Shuri possess devil wings and horns, implying that they are under the effect of Domi Reversi.
