Cowboy Bebop Live-Action Review

If you grew up watching '90s anime, then there's one title that's surely going to get you riding some sort of nostalgia wave Cowboy Bebop. But in case you're not familiar with it, it's a show that revolves around bounty hunters (Cowboys) working on a spaceship called Bebop.

It's set in the year 2071, 50 years after a major disaster made the Earth completely uninhabitable. The anime was a resounding commercial success, winning many awards for its originality and unique story arc. A live-action remake is coming to Netflix soon, and the streaming platform has released first-look photos.

The reboot brings the show's beloved characters to life with Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) as they track down space fugitives, while also trying to escape their own pasts in the process. Despite their differences, the trio are more than capable of catching the most dangerous criminals in the solar system. For a price, of course. It's your classic Western mixed in with a good dollop of science fiction.

Halo Infinite Official Release Date

During Gamescom 2021’s Opening Night livestream on Wednesday, Microsoft confirmed that Halo Infinite will officially launch on December 8 for Xbox and PC. Microsoft originally planned to release the game in tandem with the Xbox X/S in November of last year, but ultimately postponed Halo Infinite‘s debut to fall 2021 due to the pandemic. Halo Infinite‘s campaign and multiplayer modes will arrive in December as part of season one, “Heroes of Reach.” Though the game will not launch with campaign co-op or Forge mode, cooperative gameplay should become available in season two, roughly three months after the game’s initial launch.

During Microsoft’s E3 showcase in June, the gaming company shared a first look at the game’s multiplayer mode, which features signature Halo gameplay experiences. Across two game modes “Arena” and “BTB Halo Infinite enlists franchise-famous landscapes, weapons and recognizable voiceovers for “double kill” and “capture the flag.” “Our goal is to deliver a multiplayer experience that honors classic Halo combat while also offering new players the support needed to jump in and have a great time,” says Joseph Staten, head of creative for Halo Infinite, in a statement. “To that end, we’re introducing the Spartan Academy and Spartan Commander Laurette who will help players familiarize themselves with maps, weapons, and equipment.” Elsewhere in the game, several Spartan customization options will be available, including a Yoroi armor that players can unlock through events. Additionally, Microsoft will put out a new Halo Infinite-themed Xbox Series X console and Xbox Elite controller alongside the game. Take a look at Halo Infinite‘s new cinematic trailer, which Microsoft also shared during Gamecom’s Opening Night, above.

Dota 2 7.30 Gameplay Update And Bugs

Today's patch unveils the 7.30 gameplay update, complete with new and reworked hero abilities; updated talents, shards, and scepters; and a new batch of neutral items for everyone to explore as we barrel through the final weeks before The International kicks off in Bucharest in October. With tweaks and changes across the board, there's a lot of fun stuff to absorb. Head over to the 7.30 Update page for a fresh list of all that the update has in store.

This patch also marks the end of the Nemestice event. Thank you to all players who participated in the event, and make sure to claim any of your final rewards. Buried in the Dota 2 patch 7.30 notes is a new item called Pig Pole – a humble enough-sounding tier one item that grants a +6 to all stats. But, the dazzling feature of this little goody lies in its active effect: “Pig, Out!” This has what sounds like a truly hilarious result: it turns the owning hero into a pig for four seconds, giving them a 10% move speed boost.

It’s a neutral item, so there’s a chance that one could drop and have you end up becoming a piggy whizzing around at quick-speed, which I’m sure you’d agree would be a truly wonderful thing. The item has a cooldown of 25 seconds and a mana cost of 50. Other new items in the latest Dota 2 update include the Tumbler’s Toy, which propels your unit forward by 300, Brigand’s Blade, which grants some extra damage and attack speed along with a ‘dark mercy’ perk, and Blast Rig – an exploding bit of kit with a timed 100% blind effect – among others. The rundown of the new patch is colossal so you can find the full notes on Valve’s site right here. This patch also marks the end of the Nemestice event so you’ll need to get on and claim your final rewards, Valve reminds players, thanking them for jumping in while it was live.

Scarlett Johansson And Colin Jost Are Having A Baby!

Congratulations to Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost ! The couple welcomed their first baby together, Jost confirmed. This is 36-year-old Johansson's second child. She shares her 7-year-old daughter, Rose, with her ex-husband, Romain Dauriac, whom she split from in 2017 after two years of marriage. "Ok ok we had a baby," Jost's message on Instagram began. His name is Cosmo. We love him very much." The comedian noted that "privacy would be greatly appreciated." "#wegotawaywithitforalongtime #nokidspolicy #we’regoingtodisneyworld," he added. Jost, 39, and Johansson got engaged in May 2019 after two years of dating. They tied the knot in October 2020 in an intimate ceremony.

Back in February 2017, the Black Widow star talked to us about the struggles of being a working mother with a hectic schedule. "I don't profess to know anything about parenting, anything more than anybody else, [but] being a working mom is an incredible challenge, [and] it's an incredible gift," she said. "I think you always feel a little bit of guilt… If you're at work, you feel like you're missing out on those special moments with your kid. If you're with your kid, you feel like you're not giving enough to your job. It's a balance." "I have a lot of huge admiration for working moms," she added. "I'm barely, barely holding it together." Meanwhile, Johansson recently talked about why she can't run Black Widow lines with her husband. "He doesn't like any spoilers though, so I can't tell him anything," she shared during her appearance on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Podcast With Julia Cunningham. "And he doesn't even pry. Even if I'm telling him." Black Widow has been 10 years in the making. Discussions about her character headlining her own movie actually began not long after she joined the MCU in 2010's Iron Man 2. Studio boss Kevin Feige hinted to Johansson that a Black Widow movie could be in the cards, but things didn't progress quickly. "It was such a different environment and even what was going on in the zeitgeist was different," Johansson told ET when we visited the movie's U.K. set in August of 2019. "I just think it would've been very different because of my own life experience." Johansson later spoke to ET about toplining her own solo film and doing so as an executive producer, becoming the first original Avenger to earn that distinction on their standalone project. "In many ways, my greatest accomplishment on this film was being able to executive produce it and carve this out of nothing," Johansson said. "We made the movie because we wanted to, not because we had to, which was liberating in a lot of ways. We got to really focus on what we thought was the most important part of Natasha's story and this is the result."

Apex Legends: Best Season 10 Meta Legends

Apex Legends‘ Season 10 update is already drawing a lot of attention, and it’s not hard to see why. Between Call of Duty: Warzone‘s recent struggles and the quality of the update itself, now is a great time to return to Apex Legends or even play it for the first time.

If it has been a while since you’ve played Apex Legends (or if you’ve simply never played the game at all), then it might be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the state of the game’s Legends roster. Even if you’re not looking to climb to the top of the battle royale’s competitive rankings, it’s helpful to know roughly where every Legend in the game stands at the moment and which might be the right one for you.

With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at the current “tier rankings” for every Legend in Apex Legends‘ red hot Season 10 meta.

S-Tier Season 10 Legends: Lifeline, Wraith, Bloodhound, Seer

Lifeline

In terms of safe Legend picks, Lifeline remains one of your absolute best options. There’s never going to be a match where her kit doesn’t come in handy. She may not be the most aggressive option (which is kind of a bummer if you have uncooperative teammates), but she is as reliable as a Legend can be.

Wraith

Along with Lifeline, Wraith has been one of the most consistent Legends in Apex Legends since the game launched in 2019. Her unique combination of aggressiveness and evasiveness makes her a godsend for players who can’t always depend on their teammates, and even pre-made teams will appreciate the results she brings to the party.

Bloodhound

Bloodhound’s nerfs absolutely hurt his overall power (and new Legend Seer is already gunning for his spot), but when you get down to it, this Legend’s ability to read a map and lead coordinated attacks is hard to beat. He also happens to perform quite well on his own, though Bloodhound obviously shines in a well-tuned squad.

Seer

While Seer’s tracking skills are best described as Bloodhound-lite, this character’s ability to locate nearby enemies by aiming down sight will always come in handy. Besides, the real reason you want to play as Seer is to take full advantage of his devastating interrupt ability.

A-Tier Season 10 Legends: Gibraltar, Octane, Bangalore, Valkyrie

Gibraltar

You’d think that a character like Gibraltar would struggle in a game that’s so focused on quick movements and evasiveness, but this Legend’s durability makes him uniquely capable of surviving scenarios that other Legends would instantly die in.

Octane

Essentially the opposite of Gibraltar, Octane is a unique Legend who willingly trades his own health for pure speed. That obviously makes him a favorite among aggressive players, but his Launch Pad Ultimate ability is quitely one of the better team tools in the game.

Bangalore

The biggest knock against Bangalore is that she’s not particularly exciting. However, her versatile and practical toolkit makes her viable in just about every combat scenario. She’s also one of the better picks for returning or new players just looking for a reliable and somewhat familiar option.

Valkyrie

While it takes some time to get used to Valkyrie’s unique aerial abilities, she’s absolutely one of the most versatile attackers in the game at the moment. Her ultimate is also sneakily overpowered, even if it does require some cooperation to make it work.

B-Tier Season 10 Legends: Caustic, Pathfinder, Mirage, Horizon, Revenant

Caustic

Caustic fans who have been waiting for the character to rise to the top of the meta may have to wait a bit longer, but this Legend is certainly more interesting than he has been in recent seasons. His toxic abilities are hard to consistently utilize in the average match, but they can obviously be devastating in certain scenarios.

Pathfinder

The “problem” with Pathfinder is that he’s just not nearly as good as he once was and other Legends have since been added to the game who serve similar purposes. However, he’s still a fairly reliable pick whose navigation abilities can be devastating in the right hands.

Mirage

Mirage has his fans, and it’s not hard to see why. His kit is as enjoyable as the character itself, which just makes it a shame that his decoy deploying abilities are so inconsistent. Thankfully, his passive cloaking ability is surprisingly useful, and well-timed decoys can still turn the tide of a quick skirmish.

Horizon

Horizon’s Ultimate is still pretty powerful, but a nerf to her Gravity Lift ability really hurt the best reason to auto-pick her. You won’t hate having Horizon on your team, but there are more reliable options available.

Revenant

Some players think Revenant is one of the best Legends in the game, and he certainly has the potential to reach those heights. However, slight nerfs to the character’s abilities combined with the complicated nature of his kit mean that his floor is a little lower than ever.

C-Tier Season 10 Legends: Rampart, Wattson, Loba, Crypto

Rampart

Due respect to Rampart, but her abilities are simply too situation-dependent. The same can be said of Caustic, but Caustic can at least consistently annoy incoming attackers whereas Rampart is really dependant on maintaining a fixed position.

Wattson

Wattson is another one of those defensive characters whose abilities can absolutely turn the tide of a battle but ultimately prove to be too situational. You’ll often find yourself wishing you had access to other abilities while you’re waiting to use Wattson’s skills.

Loba

Loba is in a weird spot at the moment. She’s a unique and fun Legend whose abilities are ultimately…ok. She’s a pure utility pick, which is kind of a shame given that there just aren’t many comps and scenarios that really call for her abilities over other options.

Crypto

Crypto certainly loses some points based on the addition of Seer alone, but the real problem here is that Crypto’s abilities force him to kind of play his own game. They can come in handy, but so far as teammates go, Crypto isn’t exactly the best option.

D -Tier Season 10 Legends: Fuse

Fuse

Poor Fuse. Respawn has just never really figured out what makes this character special, and even recent buffs do little to disguise the fact that his actual abilities just aren’t that useful. He’s really the only Legend in the game at the moment that’s hard to make an argument for.
