NFL Recap: Cowboys 27, Eagles 13

The Eagles are currently in Dallas, facing a Cowboys team that has an impressive 14-game winning streak at home. The big question is whether the Eagles can put an end to this streak. Here's a breakdown of how the game is unfolding:

First Quarter:

  • The Cowboys make a strong start with a 13-yard touchdown on their opening drive. Dak Prescott connects with CeeDee Lamb for a wide-open score on third-and-2. Despite an initial flag for offensive holding, the referees ultimately decide there was no foul. (Cowboys 7 - Eagles 0)

  • The Eagles drive towards the red zone, but Jalen Hurts fumbles the ball on a quarterback draw play. Donovan Wilson forces and recovers the fumble, marking Hurts' fourth lost fumble of the season.

  • Rookie kicker Brandon Aubrey continues his impressive debut season, effortlessly nailing a 60-yard field goal, extending the Cowboys' lead to two scores. Aubrey remains perfect in his brief NFL career. (Cowboys 10 - Eagles 0)

Second Quarter:

  • A surprising move as the Cowboys execute a fake punt on fourth-and-2. Braden Mann throws a pass to Olamide Zaccheaus, gaining 28 yards.

  • Jake Elliott manages to sneak in a 52-yard field goal just inside the right post, putting the Birds on the board after the successful fake punt. (Cowboys 10 - Eagles 3)

  • The Cowboys' offense stays strong, with Rico Dowdle barely getting the ball across the goal line for a one-yard score. Initially ruled short, the call is overturned after review, confirming it as a touchdown. (Cowboys 17 - Eagles 3)

  • Elliott adds another field goal, this time from 44 yards, just inside the right post. A Micah Parsons sack on second down pushes the Eagles back. (Cowboys 17 - Eagles 6)

  • The Cowboys widen their lead with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Michael Gallup. Despite a flag thrown by the referees, they rule no pass interference on the play. Two significant penalties by Kelee Ringo on the same play give the Cowboys favorable field position. (Cowboys 24 - Eagles 6)

Third Quarter:

  • Safety Reed Blankenship is sidelined with a concussion after leaving the game early.

  • In a desperate attempt for points at the start of the half, A.J. Brown fumbles on the opening drive. Stephon Gilmore knocks the ball out, and Damone Clark recovers the loose ball. Despite the turnover, the Eagles force a three-and-out.

  • The Eagles make a comeback with a touchdown as Fletcher Cox knocks the ball out of Prescott's hands, and Jalen Carter scoops it up for a 42-yard fumble return, marking Carter's first career touchdown. (Cowboys 24 - Eagles 13)

  • Aubrey, the automatic rookie kicker, converts another field goal, this time from 59 yards. Two penalties on the Cowboys push them to the edge of field goal range. (Cowboys 27 - Eagles 13)

  • The Eagles struggle to convert on fourth-and-8 from the Dallas 29-yard line. Under pressure from a blitz, Hurts dumps it off to DeVonta Smith, who gains only one yard, unable to escape Gilmore's coverage. Smith had a chance for a touchdown earlier in the drive but couldn't hold on.
