Imu, keep your grubby hands to yourself! He knew about the fruit and he was probably the reason it was hidden away and guarded so closely. Makes me think that the sun god fighting the elbaf god of war was his doing as well. We already know that joy boy failed on his quest and it's likely that imu's domi reversi played a part. I think imu managed to domi reversi all of his nakama and he had to fight and possibly kill them all. Makes me think that maybe imu was joy boy's closest friend who betrayed him and turned his crew against him. Mutiny, it's a pirate manga after all! The other time we've seen a mutiny in the story was when usopp left the crew. Oda has also stated that usopp and luffy are best friends.

Maybe imu was the usopp of joy boy but unlike usopp he never managed to find his courage to stand on his own and remained a coward using others to fight his battles. Maybe he grew envious of joy boy and his power and influence and used domi reversi to steal everything from him like the coward he is. Maybe usopp is meant to end imu as the fulfillment of his dream to become a brave warrior of the sea! Usopp also often commands others as the god usopp and strategist, but never by forcing them to do his bidding but by the trust and respect he has gained from them. They share so many parallers! This would also mean that blackbeard is meant to be the final villain, he has also been shown to be the counterpart of luffy so it would make a lot of sense!
